fall glamping with Miss Dot!

i'm at a vintage trailer rally at the beach this week,

so i thought i'd share photos of the 'glamping' decor that i created

for Miss Dot at a past rally (2021)...

you've seen a tropical decor theme (from 2022) in a recent post,

now here's a look at how switching out decor elements and a new color addition

creates a whole new vibe - this one's beachy!

(the rally is held in Newport Beach, CA and always has a 'surf' theme)

planning the decor theme for each glamping excursion

reminds me so much of how i played in my grandpa's Shasta trailer as a kid,

spending hours in their backyard decorating and dreaming...

let's begin the tour outdoors:

lightweight low-pile 'faux grass' rugs cover the concrete pad,

which is much more comfy for bare feet. 

folding chairs are covered with vintage chenille bedspreads, and accessorized with pillows.

the folding green table next to the door is also vintage, and a mainstay...

i always put my vintage green cooler there and fill it with decor.

this time a selection of white, yellow, and green pumpkins burst outta' the top,

along with some hula skirt raffia 'grass' and a pretty yellow floral lei. 

on the picnic table, a vintage green + white tablecloth sets the scene

where similar elements repeat:

more white, yellow and green pumpkins gather on a white tray,

with more raffia and yellow floral leis as filler.

inside the trailer, our green + white linens and curtains pair PERFECTLY with yellow!

each yellow accent really pops and draws attention...

on top of the fridge, more pumpkins and flowers

are heaped into green vintage bowls and a small gumball machine... 
(which is just like my yellow gumball machine seen in my last post)

you know what's amazing? i made those tiny clay pumpkins back in the 90's!

they were originally orange, and after a decade i painted them white to fit my home's decor, 

and i love how they look inside the gumball machine
nestled on top of cheap yellow plastic leis.

in the back of the trailer, the loveseat gets more green + white pillows

and a big squishy yellow sweet sweater pumpkin.

a few yellow pumpkins in a white bowl on the countertop add to the theme,

and our vintage green McCoy covered dish hides candy!!!

nothing i've used here is new for the trailer - 

i just 'shop the house' and pull decor elements together,

then pack them into a bin and load them into Miss Dot.

once basic setup is done in the rv park,

i put on some Beach Boys music and have fun decorating!

(yes, wine is usually involved)

it doesn't take a lot of STUFF to decorate successfully...

or a lot of SPACE to do it in. use color and scale to add interest,

and that can be done without spending a cent!

i'll be photographing the decor in Miss Dot this week at the rally,

and will share it here on the blog later in October.

i'm always amazed how different she looks with a decor theme change!
