a cool, refreshing boho mod style in tones of greens and accented with succulents.
no one has come to stay with us since then, but i've just updated the decor...
adding the color orange really works to to bring in a 'fall' mood.
(it's still hot here. but it's October now, so i have to accept the inevitable!)
continue reading to see how a few small changes made a BIG difference
the addition of a fuzzy chenille throw and orange accent pillows cozies up the bed.
as i was doing this, my neighbor put some things on our private fb group for sale -
i saw the cactus pillows and nearly passed out!
(i added the orange bloom to them - it's just a swish of paint)
behind the bed pillows, you can see patterned orange shams peeking out...
a comforter that matches them is in a basket elsewhere in the room,
with all of them adding another layer of pattern and color without being overwhelming.
(if you go back to see the 'before' photos of this room in the original post,
you'll see HOW overwhelming that busy print can be in this small room!)
on the bedside table, a flower was added to one of the faux cacti in a glass vase.
those flowers, and those shown below, came from one stem of faux marigold blooms. cheap!
i simply pulled each bloom off of the stem, and popped it into place on the cacti.
one or two needed a toothpick inserted into the flower to hold them in place.
joined by a smaller copy of the one on the bed.
on top, the painted vase faux succulents are enhanced with a orange flower -
and the same flowers pop into the three faux Sweet Sweater Succulents beneath the table.
that features orange in the bound edge and cover photo,
are joined by the formerly MIA painted ping pong cacti!
it's so easy to refresh a room for the season with small touches!
