when planning for our recent campout with our Lemon Drop Divas group,
i knew i would incorporate the 'county fair' theme in our trailer decor
along with lemons and yellow - it's a thing with us ;)
so i did what i always do - looked around my studio
and house and garage and backyard
to see what i already had that i could incorporate into the decor.

i began this project with this metal milk can...
it's about 16" tall and lightweight - not a 'real' milk can.
it was a perfect fit for the 'county fair' theme,
so it became the basis of my plan for our exterior trailer decor.
i took a round lemon slice-print note paper and added the lettering,
then glued it onto the can.
i knew it would hold a lot of flowers, but i needed a support system -

and i used something i already had to provide that:
this is a vintage wire flower frog that bends into different shapes...
i compacted it into the 'crown' shape (top left)
and then secured it to the top of the milk can:
and then secured it to the top of the milk can:
the round metal base of the flower frog fit perfectly inside the top of the milk can -
unfortunately it was *just* small enough to fall in. pffft.
i took some twine, and tied the flower frog to the two handles on the milk can
and that prevented it from falling in.
that made it easy to create a silk floral arrangement
by inserting the stems into the flower frog.

i used almost every yellow flower i have!
roses, hibiscus, poppies, tulips, round craspedia, gerberas,
and two different types of lemon branches fill the vase.
i made the arrangement in the round,
so that when i sat it on our picnic table outside our trailer,
it would look pretty from all sides:

paired up with yellow and lemon accents like 'canned' lemons in jars,
it was a happy addition to our site that cost me nuthin' .

that glamping trip was weeks ago, and i still haven't disassembled it...
it's sitting on the credenza in front of my faux fireplace,
and really cheers up the room!
