the thing is, decor doesn't have to LOOK cheap...
adding a simple flourish to an inexpensive element raises your decor from 'basic' to EXTRA.
case in point - these simple clear glass vases from the Dollar Tree.
paired with a lace doily or section of a lace tablecloth, they look positively elegant for spring!

it couldn't be easier to wrap a vintage doily or snippet of lace around a vase,
then tie in place with some string, or use a drop of hot glue to secure.
then fill your vase with flowers. they needn't be expensive:
