the wreath in my last post isn't the only way i am using paper hearts!
the freebie hearts cut from magazine pages and other scrap paper in my studio
have also become wall art and a mantel garland.
this is a really easy way to add a fun seasonal touch to your home
using what you have on hand already
(that's really been my Modus Operandi through this whole pandemic)

let's start with this 'box art' piece - which i made using ANOTHER piece of art!
that 'easy peasy lemon squeezy' art is a fun piece and i didn't want to change it.
(we use it and similar decor in our mint green Shasta trailer)
so, i created a new piece of art to fit inside the BACK of it!
two pieces of striped paper from a note pad were easily cut to size and taped into the box,
then the heart that i cut from paint chips fit perfectly over them.
(i cut up the yellow 'paint chip' tree from my holiday decor)
and i can remove them without damage when this season is over!

the other two boxed art pieces were made inside boxes that were packaging for other items...
the smaller yellow one held two small sachets, and was used as-is.
all i did was tape the two vintage Disneyland D ticket hearts into it!
the larger one held a set of notecards.
the box is kind of a gold/yellow hue. while the outside is ok, the inside seemed dark -
so i cut white paper to fit inside
then taped six small hearts in varying patterns onto the paper.
i like the simple look of them,
but there IS something you can do to enhance them further if you wish:

both of those boxes have clear acetate/plastic covers,
and it's easy to add words onto them!
i hand-lettered 'love' onto this one using a gray Sharpie marker,
but vinyl lettering or stickers would work, too.

the garland is simply a few paper hearts glued to posterboard,
then hot glued to a length of vintage gift wrapping ribbon.

paper + scissors + tape or glue = easy art!
i had planned to make some woven 'swedish hearts' with white + yellow paper....
i just ran outta' time! i've linked my previous tutorial for those below.
