time for a BONUS POST!
i just had to fit this one in before Thanksgiving...

here's a 'fast, cheap, & easy' last-minute decor idea
that will add a touch of personalized meaning to your celebration
( and might just help to keep the kids busy, too! )

make word art to decorate your front door or entry wall

all it takes is a word program, paper, a printer,
and some interesting 'frames' to display the completed word art...

the paper shown here is the back side of vintage sheet music book covers -
i love the warm hues of old paper, and
it's a bit thicker than regular printer paper so it holds shape well when hung this way.
cardstock and scrapbook paper works well, too.

if you're blessed with great handwriting or calligraphy skills, go for it!
if not, create a graphic on your computer using pretty fonts
with verses, quotes, lyrics, or simple words such as
gratitude, thankfulness, blessings, celebration
to express the sentiment of the season.

play around with font styles and sizes to create a pleasing composition,
then print the words in colors you choose onto your paper stock.

next, find some interesting items to use as 'frames'...

i've used one of the vintage wood clipboards that i saved from my Dad's business
and just clipped the paper into the metal clip, with a hole to hang the clipboard from.

one of my collected vintage wood clothes hangers serves as a frame
when the paper is folded over the bar and held in place with a few pieces of tape.
the hook makes displaying it easy-peasy -
i use clear pushpins to hang lightweight things like this!

a few crepe paper leaves with wire stems from Dollar Tree
are a simple embellishment that's easy to secure to the clipboard and hanger,
just to pretty things up a bit.
(if you live where you're blessed with REAL fall leaves, they work perfectly too!)

hung on your front door wreath, entryway wall, or even above a buffet table,
these simple reminders of the reason for celebrating Thanksgiving
will bring a personal touch to your decor and gathering.

wishing you and yours a blessed Thanksgiving,
and an abundance of warmth and joy in this special season...

psssst.... my first holiday post will go live on Tuesday!
i can't wait to show you the first fun project i've completed,
which gave me the theme for this year's content!
see ya' then...

  1. That is a cute idea...fast and easy. I always try to find something for my grandson to do for his parents. This would translate to a Christmas idea, too! xo Diana
