spring is here, and things are starting to bloom!
looking for a fresh addition to our spring decor after removing the Easter eggs,
i found inspiration in one of my own past projects...
i found inspiration in one of my own past projects...
about seven years ago, i shared a project here on the blog that i called 'Posie Pails'.
basically, i combined a colorful floral seed packet, some twine, and a recycled tin can
and the result was garden-theme decor accents on the cheap:
well, i just figured out how to make an even cheaper 'quarantine crafts' version of them:
because it isn't essential to leave the house for craft supplies,
i found a way to use floral images clipped from magazines to create my OWN 'seed packets'!

then i grabbed some old magazines that i was getting ready to recycle,
tore out some pages with flowers on them, cut out the flowers,
and proceeded to use them to create 'seed packet labels' of my own.
here's the easy 'how to':

here's the easy 'how to':
i used the big white sticky shipping labels that i had on hand and cut them to size.
(the same ones i used on my wine bottle plant markers)
I also made a larger size label and used it for a piece of wall art...
the back is simply a small canvas covered in wood-print scrapbook paper:

i popped some silk flowers into a few of the Posie Pails,
trying to match at least the color of the flower to the color of the label.
(in a few cases - poppies, gerbera daisies, and mums - i was able to match the flower, too!)
i'm still working out a way to use them on my front porch...
plan A didn't pan out. eh, it happens.
i had other things to take care of today so i couldn't stick with it.
i'll head out there again tomorrow and try out plans B and C...
and as soon as i come up with something i like, i'll add it to this post.
but even that doesn't bother me...
it's been a sunny warm day here and all i can think is 'happy spring! FINALLY!'
