for my Thanksgiving table decor this year,
i've rounded up most of the newest pumpkins i created
along with my new Sweet Sweater 'Shrooms and scrap paper leaves.
together, they created a table with a warm golden glow that is perfect for fall
and i didn't have to buy a thing. LOVE that.
ps: at the end of this post, i've linked ALL of my Thanksgiving tablescape ideas
that you've seen here on the blog since i began in 2012!
the vintage china plates with yellow roses and my matching painted floral pumpkins
were the first thing i chose for this look...
i know roses aren't what people usually think of for fall florals,
but these are just so happy and sweet that i love them!
i paired them with yellow linens, my white china, gold flatware, and gold-stemmed wine glasses
and then loaded every surface with pumpkins, leaves, and mushrooms for a fall vibe.
(funny thing is, if you took all of the fall stuff away and replaced it with pots of mini roses,
it would look like a spring / summer table!)
oh, and that mannequin?? that's Dee.
she's serving as the 'hostess with the mostess' here,
wearing a 1940's vintage dress with yellow roses
that PERFECTLY matches the two vintage rose plates on the table
AND my floral painted pumpkins!
(i can't wait to wear that dress and hat for a December Tea party....)
the table runner is actually a soft pashmina scarf in a buttery yellow hue -
i didn't catch a photo of the fringed ends hanging off of the table, but they look pretty!
the centerpiece is a gathering of the smallest pumpkins i made this year,
accented by a sprinkling of leaves cut from magazines, junk mail, and gift wrap.
mini lights and votive candles add a warm glow.
pumpkins of many kinds tumble down the table's center -
from gold-veined Kintsugi and detailed florals to simple gradient yellows
and of course, a Sweet Sweater Pumpkin!
names scribed onto paper leaves as place cards
and a single bloom on top of a gold napkin ring are finishing touches.
larger pumpkins gather on the credenza,
echoing the ones used in the centerpiece.
they are accented by the paper leaf arrangement from a recent post
and my new Sweet Sweater 'Shrooms on the mantel.
(and that lamp? it was a long-ago blog project!)
i built the faux mantel last fall and have really enjoyed having it in my studio.
it sits on top of a credenza, which serves as a raised 'hearth' -
and that makes photo shoots much easier on my back!
by emptying my work table/desk of the detritus that usually lives there,
i can dress it up as a dining table with all kinds of decor themes
and the mantel works as a perfect background.
while it's not quite Thanksgiving yet,
i'm going to wish you all a very happy one -
because my next post kicks off this years' holiday content!!!
