use heart-shaped cake tins as decor!

just in case you need a very last-minute Valentine's Day decorating idea,

here's a cute idea using heart-shaped baking pans and cookie cutters!

i mean, why NOT use what you have on hand to decorate?!

to create this last-minute mantel decor,

i gathered up a bunch of cookie cutters and baking pans

(which seem to multiply magically inside the kitchen cabinets!)

and a few sweater remnants...

a strip of banding from the bottom of a sweater makes a perfect 'scarf' on a cake tin,
while a newborn-size knit cap fits on one of the heart's arches on another.

one of my yellow Sweet Sweater Hearts tucks into another cake pan,
accented by some bona fide antique heart-shaped cookie cutters from my Grandma.
a couple of similar round cookie cutters were placed on the ends of the arrangement.

it took me all of about ten minutes to put this together,
so don't think it's too late to create something in your home!!!

speaking of 'last minute'....
i created this mantel in 2021, photographed it, filed the photos,
and promptly forgot all about it.
when i recently found the photos in my files, i thought 'USE THIS!'

good ideas don't expire ;)
