March Mushroom Madness
you come up with this festive creation!since my bday is this week, i decided this is the right time to share them!
have you figured out what i used to make them yet?

yep, it's champagne corks!
while not perfectly 'mushroom' shaped, the resemblance is there...
and since i have a whole glass jar filled with corks, why not use 'em?!
i painted the corks two ways:
two of them are white and yellow, with some small gold accents.

it's all done with acrylic paint and alcohol paint pens.
on the right above, there's a wine cork painted gold...
my plan was to glue it to the bottom of the smaller gold & yellow 'shroom cork
to make it taller in a container - but it ended up i didn't need to.
still a good way to vary the sizes of a group of 'shrooms!

once painted and dry, i inserted short wood skewers into the bottoms of the corks
to sit deeper in the 'filler' and help hold them up in the containers.
i used mossy green eyelash yarn as the 'filler', to add texture.
the two containers shown above are a ceramic cup and a milk glass bowl.
a ceramic egg cup and a miniature cup are in perfect scale to hold a 'shroom each.

to create a tiny arrangement under a glass dome,
i added a wood lid from a candle jar under the cup,
and a stemless wine glass on top - it fit inside just exactly:
i've used this stemless wine glass as a cloche / dome idea before,
in some spring tablescapes:
