and never shared it on the blog!
i just ran across the photos in a file, and decided they need the spotlight...
even though there's not a single touch of yellow in the photos ;)
(i think i DID share it on Instagram that year)
the rustic woodsy warmth of this table decor exemplifies fall to me,
and i loved the way the elements reflect traditional style.

here are the elements in the centerpiece:
pumpkins painted with floral motifs pulled from my brown Staffordshire English china
are the main element of the centerpiece running down the center of the table.
smaller elements pull your eye in closer:
white and brown ceramic pumpkins, resin glittered pinecone ornaments,
and faux branches with oak leaves and acorns dusted with clear glitter.
back in 2014, i purchased a dozen of these branches
in the Disneyland Cast Member store when i was a cast member -
they had been previously used in the Christmas decor
in retail stores in the 'Frontierland' area at Disneyland.
since then, i've used them for Thanksgiving and Christmas
on a few of our Christmas trees, a fall wreath, and this tablescape.
i placed two of our porcelain tile floor pieces as a 'table runner'...
their warm faux wood finish is a perfect platform for the centerpiece:
then i used a few pieces of china to create levels for the center display:
saucers at table level and on top of plain white coffee cups
lift some of the elements up - which creates visual interest
and allows placement of smaller elements under the raised saucers.
a few votives in clear glass cups add warm light to the scene.
the large vintage serving pieces on the table await being filled with food -
want an easy tip for that?
place the vintage serving pieces ON the table to make sure they fit.
then put the food into CLEAR serving bowls and platters,
and sit those on top of the china to serve.
not only is it easy,
this method also prevents having to put big china pieces
into the dishwasher when dinner is over -
just put the clear bowls and platters with leftovers into the fridge
and easily hand-rinse the china bowls & platters clean!
details of the place settings:
my white ceramic plates are topped with a brown Staffordshire plate,
then a floral salad plate from a vintage tea set -
which could be for salad or moved below the tea cup to hold bread.
tea cups + saucers, frosted wine glasses with gold stems,
and gold flatware finish off each place with warmth.
a rolled white damask napkin is held in place by a gold napkin ring,
with one of the glittered oak leaves wired onto it for a final finishing touch.
i hope these ideas inspire you to gather up some natural and decorative elements
from around your home to create a warm & welcoming Thanksgiving table this year!
