one last post before i take a break for the month of june...
this 'discovery' came one DAY after my last blog post,
which was all about using bottles as flower vases.
(i'm consistently a day late to the party)

this project will be a perfect way to enjoy our roses all summer long!

while engaging in some heavy-duty spring cleaning,
i came across a few spice containers that were WAY past their 'use by' date.
the plastic spice bottles went into the recycling bin,
but this glass spice bottle was destined to become something else!

because it had this built-in plastic top with holes, like a flower frog,
i immediately pictured it as a bud vase holding individual blooms.

after removing the plastic top and giving it a good clean
(Dawn Power Wash spray cleans EVERYTHING. that's all i'm gonna' say, girls)
i popped the plastic top back on, added a few inches of water,
then cut a few tiny branches of photinia from the backyard.

each hole in the plastic top holds one stem,
making 'arranging' things really easy.
plus, this small bud vase approach means they can be all over the house!

this one sits in our kitchen window and smells SO sweet!

once the bushes stop blooming,
i can cut some sprigs from our herb garden and pop them into the bottle!

i wish we had had more of these in the cabinet,
and think i'll be looking for old glass spice bottles at yard sales this summer...

  1. Kinda makes you think, "Why didn't I think of that?!" That's genius, Deb! And love how you married the labels to your flowers! Gorgeous!
