scrap paper tree wall art

i never throw away paper scraps. ever.
(because the moment i DO, i find a use for them! LOL)
when i had some thin strips of wood-patterned paper left over
from my faux wood tree project in my last post, they went into a drawer in my studio.
and just about about a day and a half later, i had a project to use them in:
a piece of contemporary rustic wall art for our gallery wall!

'continue reading' for the really easy details...

this simple project is just paper -
mostly scrapbooking paper from the craft store,
with a bit of wood grain contact paper from another project thrown in for contrast -
cut in strips then arranged in a tree-shaped pattern.
those are glued onto a large piece of background paper,
which was pinned on each corner to a canvas hung on the wall.

this could also be a bunch of holly. or bells. or ornaments. or stars. or snowmen!
any holiday motif would work for this kind of scrap paper wall art. give it a try!

each season, i create a new 'work of art' of some kind for that canvas on the wall.
here are a few other seasonal looks that i have made in the past:

paper, glue, and paint... not just for kindergarten crafts! ;)
