today, i'm re-visiting a past project: the scarf-wrapped wreath!
for this version, i've turned the scarf into the bow and covered the wreath with a sweater.
it's a easy and inexpensive way to create a wreath
that will work well wherever you place it -
on the door, a wall, a mantel, or even lying flat with a glass-encased candle in the middle!
the bonus is that there are no needles falling off of this wreath!
continue reading for the easy details...
to start, i grabbed three yellow sweater sleeves (XL size - more fabric for your buck!)
then i bent the noodle into a circle, slid two sweater ends back just a bit,
and used Gorilla brand duct tape to hold the noodle ends together.
(Gorilla brand is VERY strong and VERY sticky - perfect for projects like this.
and no, this is not an ad! i use it, so i recommend it.)
then i slid the two sweater arm ends back together to cover the tape.
my previous wreaths like this were made by wrapping scarves around wreath forms,
and i've linked posts about those (including a tutorial) below this post!
i was thinking that it needed something more...
and in a perfect example of muses coming to my aid,
i found some charming YELLOW fuzzy yarn-wrapped ornaments for just $3 at Target!
they come with a tiny gold thread hanger - i cut that off,
and pushed two hat pins through the holes to hold the ornament on the wreath.
i think it's the perfect finishing touch!
hopefully i will find another ornament / word to replace it with after Christmas...
but maybe the muses will assist me with that, too!
the wreath easily hangs from a regular metal wreath hanger on the door,
and also sits on my faux mantel. it would also hang well on a wall!
those big round yellow ball ornaments?
those used to hang on the giant Christmas tree on Disneyland's Main Street, USA!
i bought them from the Cast Member store back in 2014,
and love finding ways to work them into my decor.
they bring back memories that really make me smile...
